Lisa Faulkner’s ‘gunshot wound’ dress while talking about Tunisia shootings caused quite a stir

New This Morning host Lisa Faulkner presented an item about the Tunisia terrorist shootings whilst wearing a dress that viewers thought looked like a ‘gunshot wound’.
                  
Faulkner’s co-host, Ben Shephard, tweeted a picture before the show began, and viewers were quick to comment about the choice of outfit, given the nature of the topic they were discussing.

While the dress actually featured a big poppy design, not many were able to pick up on that, with the assumption being that it looked more like a bloody injury.

Of course, Twitter was soon a hive of activity after the dress was first seen:
  Some saw the funny side of the dress selection with one user clearly remembering how the presenter and actress had previously suffered a grisly death thanks to a deep fat fryer in Spooks.
  Other viewers were shocked, however, that Faulkner presented an item about the aftermath of the terrorist shootings in Tunisia in the dress. You’d think the stylists might have had a quick word.
  The dress actually features a big poppy design, although not many were able to pick up on that.
                

                   
Faulkner has yet to comment on the controversy. She began the day by telling her Twitter followers how excited she was about hosting the show.
